Day trip bus connections
Bus transfers between Nelson, Motueka, Kaiteriteri and Marahau are run by Better Bus, a shared service connecting the main Abel Tasman operators. Wilsons helped establish it and our day trip guests travel at discounted rates.
The bus picks up from central Nelson, Stoke, Richmond and Motueka before heading to Kaiteriteri and Marahau. Nelson to Kaiteriteri takes approximately one hour; Motueka to Kaiteriteri is around 25 minutes. Allow extra time during peak summer periods.
From Wellington, the Interislander ferry arrives at Picton. From Picton, Nelson is about 1.5 hours by shuttle or hire car. Better Bus then connects you through to the park.

All lodge-based multiday trips include complimentary coach transfers. Get yourself to Nelson and we'll handle the rest, including the return journey after your trip ends.
We pick up from main accommodation providers in Nelson city, plus stops along State Highway 60 between Nelson and Motueka (including Stoke and Richmond). Your booking confirmation includes exact pickup times, luggage allowances and packing guidance.
